EuRIC position paper on chemical recycling
The European Recycling Industries’ Confederation, EuRIC, published its position paper about chemical recycling.
Representing the mechanical recycling industry, EuRIC agrees that chemical recycling could effectively complement mechanical recycling in achieving a circular economy, as it would represent an interesting solution to address plastic waste streams that are not currently recycled.
However, EuRIC wishes to underline that chemical recycling cannot be considered as the silver bullet solution as such. Therefore, EuRIC emphasizes that the playing field for mechanical and chemical recycling must remain the same at European level.
