Bluealp and RES to build chemical recycling plant in Italy

The Italian waste management company RES (Recupero Etico Sostenibile) plans to build a chemical recycling plant for plastic waste next to its existing mechanical recycling facilities in Pettoranello del Molise, Italy, just over 100 km north of Naples. RES signed a contract last week with the Dutch company Bluealp which is to supply the pyrolysis technology for the facility.

Once completed, the recycling plant is to have an annual processing capacity of 20,000 tonnes. Itis currently expected to go into operation in mid-2026, said Bluealp in a press statement. The Eindhoven-based technology company explained that the short realisation time would be possible because a detailed design for a commercial plant had already been developed.
